Can’t stop puking!

TMI:

I’m 3 days post op and things are super rough. I’m dry heaving and throwing up several times throughout the night! My vomit looks like it has bits of old blood in it. Is this normal?

No. Please contact your surgical team. Good luck!

The bits of old blood probably is normal, but you definitely should contact your team. (Remember, there is bleeding that happens during the surgery, so it's probably from that). In fact, there is frequently blood in your first bowel movement postop as well.

So don't panic about the blood.. but you shouldn't be vomiting all night either. If your team isn't available, you can go to the ER and they can help you with the nausea.

Call your doctor. If you cant reach him/her then go to an ER at a hospital that has a Bariatric Program. Get well soon.

I had quite a bit of nausea and vomiting the first three days, phenergan suppositories were a godsend!
