Suddenly not feeling good

I have been on regular foods since I was 6 days pre-op. I know it was early, and I ended up back on soft foods for another couple of weeks. I have been doing FINE. Until yesterday. I started feeling kind of sick. Very gurgly stomach, not able to eat much. Im not sure if its food or the water or if it could be my vitamins, which have been REALLY GROSSING ME OUT!! I see the surgeon Thursday, I hope he lets me switch vitamins.

I can't take vitamins right now makes me nauseous Sent from my A1601 using BariatricPal App

  • Just skip your vitamins for the next two days to see if that helps. That way you'll have more info for your surgeon. Two days won't make a difference to your nutritional status... I wouldn't advise

  • Yup. This was exactly what my surgeon told me to do if I felt sick. Hope it helps the OP

What do you mean by regular food? Like anything you want? How did it feel the first time eating after 6 days?

Just skip your vitamins for the next two days to see if that helps. That way you'll have more info for your surgeon. Two days won't make a difference to your nutritional status... I wouldn't advise someone to avoid vitamins longer than that without their physician's ok.

If you still feel sick without vitamins, then you know to look elsewhere.

He said soft meats, cheeses, soft veggies. I had to stop yogurt and protein shakes. It was hard, I was nauseaus everytime i ate. I went back to yogurts, soups and softer things on my own.

Thank you! I didn't take one tonight, just the thought of it was upsetting my stomach. I hope it goes away by tomorrow, it's a horrible feeling. Thank you.
