Looking for buddies Late March/Early April surgery

Hello, I'm new here and just looking to make some friends who are on a similar timeline. My surgery is scheduled for 3/28/17. I'm starting to get nervous

About me: I live in the greater Cincinnati area on a 200 acre farm with my husband and our 5 dogs, 7 cats, 2 horses, and many cows and chickens. I am 34 years old and suffer from generalized anxiety and depression, and some social anxiety. I am an introverted person, so making friends online is easier. I love riding my horses, being outside, music, watching sports, and reading. After surgery I hope to get back into running, weight lifting, and hiking. I am an open-minded and sensitive person.

My biggest fear currently is that I will have the surgery and still manage to fail by regaining weight or not losing. I've struggled with my weight on and off since my teens.

Looking forward to sharing the journey!

  • I had mine 3/10. I kept mine on the down low for the same reason. I'm still on liquids and getting bummed out. This has been the hardest thing I've ever done.

  • I'm so sick of shakes! I went for my follow up on Wednesday, it went well. I was put on pureed foods then. What are you eating for pureed food? All of a sudden I feel like I don't know what to eat, lo

Hi Kafinator,

sounds like today is your day. Best wishes that everything goes very smoothly. I am two days out and can't believe how much better I feel already. Each day it got so much better. Hoping for the same for you!

April 10 for me.
Day 10 of 3 week, liquid only, 1000 calorie diet. Down 19 pounds. Very tired.
Overall happy and very excited. I've been mourning food, though. Brie. Bacon. Kale. Melted mozzarella or cheddar. Subway Chipotle sauce. They top the list.
At least the premier chocolate shakes taste good.
Hope your pre and post surgery stuff is going okay.

I am just starting. I have my first appt. With Dr. Watkins end of April. I am having a revision from Lap Band. Insurance Said I need 6 month supervised diet.

My surgery is on 3/30 also. I would love a buddy to gain and provide support to as we go through this!

I had mine 3/29. How are you doing? I'm feeling pretty good. I am so sick of the shakes they turn my stomach and taste so sweet. Started purée today. Maybe just a couple spoonfuls and that was it.

Surgery is on the 9th of April, so in about 24 hours!!! Going through so many mixed feelings about it, fear that I'm going to ruin my life and regret this... I'm only 16 and my BMI is 38 but I'm blessed to have supportive parents and a surgeon who's a family friend, but I'm getting it done in a public hospital here. Not the greatest environment to be in but just praying I won't have a bad experience. Any advice for my first days of recovery? Do you think I'd be able to go back to school in 8 days?

Not sure if youll be able to go back in 8 days or not, I was sleeved 8 days, ago and could definitely have went back today, but my surgeon requores 14 days out. Also, are you going to be able to sip water all day in school? Also, if you experonece nausea, it may be the pain medicine you are on, once they awitched me i didnt habe any more nausea. Good Luck!

All of a sudden I feel like I don't know what to eat, lol. I'm feeling pretty well though, I think I'll go back to work mid week or beginning of next week. Honestly, I have enjoyed being off and foxusing on myself, I'm a mental health social worker so the break was good bc it never stops at work. What about you, do you work and if so, when do you return to work?

I will definitely be able to sip water throughout the day and I'll make sure to communicate with my teachers regarding my surgery and anything I'd need. Just knowing that I'll be fine in about 8 days is enough to comfort me! Thank you so much!!!

Hey y'all :) I was sleeved on 3/14. If anyone is looking for someone to share experiences/ideas, etc. with, send me a message! I'm in a great Facebook support group, too. They'd love to have you!

My biggest complaint would be how tired I am. Its annoying because I have 4 kids with tons of energy. I'm hoping this will change soon.

I am in bed all day. Luckily I homeschool. My hubby is annoyed though. I am currently looking up b12 shots.... eating even makes me tired. I don't feel bad I just feel tired.

When does that change?
