  • Depends on your insurance requirements. I had to do a 6 month supervised diet along with multiple medical clearances. My consult was August 2016 and I'm looking at March 8, 2017 for surgery.

I started everything in October 2016 and am probably looking at a March 2017 surgery. I have had multiple tests and clearances that have had to happen. I am wrapping them up now, and will have to meet with the surgeon one more time and he will schedule me for surgery at that appointment.

Mine was six months. It felt like I had at least one appointment for something each week.

Thank you all for your input. I had my consultation two weeks ago. My labs and EKG were done yesterday. Now just waiting for a gall bladder ultrasound and psychological test. Hoping to be done next week for a March bypass....starting to feel overwhelmed but excited for a healthy life.
