HungChow

Been several days since I've gone potty. I'm in the mushy stage, I had hoped the refried beans would do the trick, but not! Any natural suggestions?

I take Colace (stool softner but what a gross name!) whenever I've had this problem. If I don't, I can get horrific gas pains and think I am dying (ore delivering a child). I never leave home without gas-ex anymore.

Wow...I can't believe I'm still single.

Megan you are delivering a child. A MALE child that is. Har har har!!!

I've had to resort to thinking more about fiber than protein. Benefiber chewables help, having bran cereal for breakfast, also frosted mini wheats, apple juice, prunes... fun, fun, fun..

Time to get down and dirty. I had major problems in this area many years ago. You have to train your body to make poopy at the same time every day. It took a long time for me to get on schedule, but now I can set my clock to my potty habits. A good solid walk first thing in the morning gets things moving if everything else fails. Think movement, dance, walk, laugh... when you move, so will your bowels. Works for me, anyway. Every - body - hang - chung... (singin' along.)

Lisa/DeLarla, you're probably great at housebreaking puppies! Someone in the mushy stage might not be able to dictate to her body yet, though. Pat, what you're going through is perfectly normal -- and Marie's right, don't be surprised if you get the runs next. If you're stuck, I recommend figs. Maybe figgy pudding for Christmas?

Human body makes no sense. If you put mush in, mush should come out. We are all aliens. Good point, Zoe. I had the opposite problem to the extreme after surgery. Couldn't stop pooping to save the planet.
