Hey y'all I'm just wondering how long everyone waited before working out? I am doing my 30 mins of walking each day but I am curious when I can do more? Also, what did everyone start with? Just cardio?? I am coming up on 2 weeks post op.

I haven't started. Saving it for when weight loss slows down later. Am almost 3 months and since week 2 have been doing 10,000+ steps a day

I only walked and did Water aerobics for the first 9 months. Then I started doing classes at the gym and got a trainer. Once I started working out more, I definitely saw an increase in my appetite. So, I do eat more because I exercise a lot now (6 days a week) but I have put on a lot of muscle.

I believe you need to wait until you are 1month post op. That way you should be cleared for everything. Just my $.02.

I walked. I started walking as soon as I was released from the Hospital. We had to stay in a Motel for 7 days. So I walked a little bit at first. Now I am 3 and 1/2 years out and I walk 4 miles 3 to 4 days a week. The thing is walking is cheap, but each of us need to find what works for us. Follow what your Dr has told you on your exercise. Everyone has different guidelines.

I walked the first few weeks then went to the elliptical. Didn't start weights till after 6 weeks. Ask your doctor thou he may be different then what I was told.

I walked for the first month and then was cleared for anything else. I started the couch to 5K as soon as I was cleared.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
