I had my surgery 6 weeks ago. I was lucky because I had no pain or nausea. The first 2 weeks the gerd was excruciating. It was worse when I would try and drink water. It resolved after two weeks but then came constipation. It was brutal and painful and made me feel unwell. Both these things I had not experienced before. I now have figured how to deal with it successfully. The fluid stage went well but I hated the purée phase. I couldn't handle puréed meat. Meeting the protein and fluid goals are another challenge. I'm still working on it, but it is getting easier. For a few weeks, I really didn't want to eat. Things just didn't taste right. I now have found things that taste good and I enjoy. I'm full with just eating a little and Saturday satisfied. This is not easy. Everyone faces their own challenges. I did this to be healthier. For those of you struggling, remember, it will get better.
