  1. From an Australian surgeon, here it is: http://mercybariatrics.com.au/obesity-surgery-2/weight-regain/ Basically it confirms why some people gain weight due to unhealthy eating and drinking.
  2. Hi, How do I Delete the "krakow hasn't added any information about themselves" in My Profile? All the info Is There! Also, I set my values to Metric, and in My Profile it shows Ibs, which looks silly. I can't change this, every time I hit Edit, it persists with Pounds. Yet, on my info under my avatar, it shows correct weight values .... Thanks
  3. Here is to more Water! http://www.bodyandsoul.com.au/fitness/training-tips/how-to-lose-206-calories-a-day-without-even-trying/news-story/e654ca0bf3ef037f8cb6849884d1f668#itm=newscomau%7Chome%7Cnca-homepage-topstories%7C5%7Clink%7Chomepage%7Chomepage&itmt=1480119936580 How to lose 206 calories a day without even trying Eliza Cracknell bodyandsoul.com.au Such a simple game changer. We're often told it's the small tweaks that can help us reach our weight loss goals faster, and for the naysayers this new study might sway your opinion. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has discovered a way for you to consume 206 fewer calories a day. It mightn't sound like a lot but according to the Pennington Biomedical Research Center weight loss predictor, that's just over half a kilo a month. All you have to do? Drink three extra glasses of Water a day. Researchers surveyed 18,000 people about what they ate over two days and they found those who drank more water consumed fewer calories. Easy, hey? Besides from the obvious perk of being a much healthier choice than sugary drinks, researchers say water can make you feel less hungry, causing you to eat less. In the study, participants drank on average 4.2 cups of water per day with a lower total calorie intake was calculated for those who had more than this. The study suggests one extra cup could see you cut 69 calories from your day, 137 calories with two extra cups, while three extra cups will help you trim 206 calories. Conclusion? Drink up.
  4. I noticed that in the past few months I have been sneezing lot more, and my nose drips like a tap on some days. At first I thought this hay fever/allergic rhinitis was/is due to my autoimmune thyroid disease because allergies come up with this disease, or get worse. After doing some reading on post op possible symptoms (post VSG), I found that few people end up with runny noses and sneezing. I have tried all sorts of medications and sprays (cortisone ones and non cortisone ones), and nothing much is helping. I ordered older types anti-histamines, as the newer ones did not work on me at all. At least the older ones like Phenergan, Benadryl and Sudafed seem to relieve my symptoms, together with Beconase nose spray. So, my question is if anyone here has been experiencing this after surgery, how long for, and did it go away for any of you at some stage? I am in my 9th month post op.
  5. I used to enjoy coming here, being helped and helping others, as well as having few laughs. For the past few months there has been drama, after drama, after drama. People threatening others, name calling, being super nasty, stirring trouble, trolling etc .... And now this! So many great people have left. I guess if most if not all experienced and successful post WLS members leave, then the enablers will rule, leaks may happen and other emergencies. I also come from medical background, and I am truly tired and sick of this nonsense. I don't need it. I too was accused of bullying, just because I did not know a particular junk food name, because I live in another country. Enough is enough!

@@deeveg Yes, it is me, next to my Land cruiser. The Jeep was a joke between Little Bill and I ..... My wish is to one day own Land cruiser Sahara, and go on a trip around Australia. I don't think my X-Trail could cope with that. Cheers,

@@mrsNilla Yes, I remember the slipping and sliding on icy streets in Norway ... especially bad in steep roads/streets going down. Had to move like a crab, sideways. Wow, GENEPRO with rum flavour .... this could be interesting @@LittleBill Hope you are wearing your thermal under-ware ..... keep warm! If I could, I would gladly send the heat to both yourself and Nilla. I am yet to install a second air-con in my West bedroom. Even with 2 fans going full blast, it is still too hot. We are having our hottest summer, and other countries are having coldest winters. Anyway, it is only a very long flight to my place, but bring the cheese-bread, and the party is on!

    No Hairloss?

No hair loss for me. None whatsoever, and I have a thyroid condition as well. My hair, at close to 10 months post op is healthier, thicker and grows fast. It is better now than pre-op. Must be all the Protein and collagen supplements, healthy diet and Vitamins I religiously take each day. So, for me, my hair is healthy. Went for total deforestation in the "down-under" area with laser Brazilian hair removal
