I know that I'll need to ask my surgeon when I see him, but thought I would see what all of you say. Do most surgeons approve FMLA and Short-term disability?

Going to ask my surgeon at my next visit. I don't have a demanding job, but my commute is killer. I might get 2 weeks. We'll see.

My surgeon highly recommends 4 - 6 weeks so I'm going to be out at least 4 weeks. My job isn't demanding either but I have a long commute. He says that with the dietary changes I will be weak and tired and not feel like doing much the first couple of weeks. I can at least work from home if I feel up to it so that is a bonus.

I teach Jr high. I will be out 1 week, back 2 days (exams 1 of 2 and only a half day with kids the other 1) and then out 2 weeks for Christmas break
