Weight Gain...Tricare

I've gained about 15 lbs since this whole process began and I'm worried Tricare won't approve my surgery. Life has been crazy stressful and eating healthy has been a huge challenge. Anyone have experience with this?

Yes! I did as well. I started at 238 and ended at 251. My Drs office told me to do another month because they wouldn't cover it but when I called tricare they said their requirements don't say anything about gaining weight. They also said if anything it might help to get approved. I did an extra month and lost weight just incase though. If they deny you, you can always file an appeal. I had to and it took about a month to get the denial reversed

Great info, thanks!

They judge by your starting weight so you should be fine!

No worries @@jen31378,

They go by your starting weight.

But don't they look at your weight from each visit? I was assuming the doctor's office sends all of the visit summaries to the insurance companies...

Sorry for my random tiny print lol

Lol @ tiny font. I'm guessing they do look at each visit. But, only concentrate on where you start, and where you end on the diet visits

Just my thoughts.
