Post-Op Problems

It's been a week since my surgery and my progress has been great. However whenever I go out to the walk my heart starts racing and I have shortness of breath and I sweat a lot. My doctors office says it's because I need to get in all my Proteins and liquids so I've been doing that but I'm still have this problem. Has anyone else experienced shortness of breath or a racing heartbeat and how long did it last?

Do you have a blood pressure cuff that you can check your BP when this happens? It could be low BP, dehydration or low potassium but I'd think your surgeon's office would look into it more than just assuming it's lack of protein and water. Even if that's what it was - it's concerning and they should be seeing you.
