6/27 buddies?

How are you all doing?? We're now 4 weeks out! Where did time go? I had a 6 day "stall" and I'm still only at .5 less than I was during the stall. I'm feeling like I'm more able to eat normal foods, which is a concern because I want to be restricted. I didn't take any time off work, so maybe I'm not healing well? Idk. Discouraged and not feeling great a it the surgery. I mean, 20 pounds loss is cool and all, but I feel like I'm going to be back to eating crap since it's not restricting. I'm on soft foods until Thursday at my one month appointment.

How are all of you 6/27 buddies doing? How much lost? What are you eating?

Hi Jo! Growing up any time I said I was hungry out of my normal eating hours, my mom said drink Water. I never knew why she said this, I just always assumed that it was because I hated drinking water as a kid. I have finally found out why. Thirst is often confused for hunger pangs. Idk if this is what you're experiencing but if so, maybe increase your water in take after your meal. It might help. Just my two cents lol.

Good advice! I'm probably not drinking as much as I should. I'm not a great fan of water but I know it's necessary - gonna persevere!

I'm trying to limit my meals to about 200 calories, and I've not felt full at all since the surgery. I don't want to push the boundaries but I kind of feel like my new pouch can hold more than I expected.

It took me a really long time to get used to drinking water. Then in a pinch I had to limit my spending and I cut out things we could do with out, juices, flavored water, soda. It really forced me to drink a lot more water as well as my kids. Now I prefer water over everything else but it is hard sometimes because water seems so boring lol.

I have a really hard time drinking water! I usually just drink crystal light lemonade. How are you getting in so many calories? I'm between 3-400 every day.

I also have issue with Water. been on G2 from gatorade since i got back home but since this week I can't stand it, I think it's too sweet. Also can't go over 400 Calories a day yet.

G2 is too sweet for me too. Even watered down. How are you feeling? How much have you lost?

22 pounds as of this morning.

That doesn't sound like enough calories and could be thee reason for slow weight loss or a stall! How much Protein are you getting? If you limit calories that much you will ruin your metabolism permanently. It's important to increase calories with healthy options. Your body is in starvation mode.

I don't know how to eat more calories. I try but there's no room in my tummy and if I try to eat higher calories, I can't really eat crap

They typically have too much sugar. My plan suggests 5-6 meals a day (3 hours in between). If 2 of those meals are Protein shakes (i.e Premier or another low carb one) and the others are protein rich - you should be able to get enough protein and calories.

I have mashed potatoes, SF pudding, cottage cheese, string cheese, premier Protein (I can only handle one a day)

It could be the mashed potato that is filling you up? I was told to stay away from starchy carbs like potato as we won't get much benefit from them - perhaps try something like scrambled eggs with shredded ham in instead?

Unfortunately, as much as I love eggs, I don't like them anymore after surgery. My sleeve rejects them almost immediately. I'm off the purées and on to soft foods so I will have more options now!
