Tongue sores and low energy

I'm 10 days post operation and have bad tongue sores. I can't drink Water or Protein as much as they want. I am able to get one Orgain protein down per day and 40 ounces of water down. The lack of energy has made me depressed. Is there anything that I can do?

Are you taking vitamins? Keep sipping - water, flavored water, G2 (might want to water it down), broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello. Get some unflavored protein powder and mix with water or whatever is on your plan right now. You will feel horrible until you can get more fluids at least - you are probably dehydrated. The tongue sores could be thrush. You may want to call your surgeon about that.

I had really low energy until I started on soft foods like yogurt and cottage cheese. Once I started that I felt much better. You definitely could have thrush as the other poster mentioned. You need to get that treated right away or it will effect your oral intake abilities. They will give you a mouth rinse to swish and spit.
