Any June sleevers out there?

I have finally been cleared and approved for my sleeve surgery!!! I almost had to call it off (rescheduled 2x) after having a minor stroke earlier this month. My surgeon required clearance from a neurologist and I had to go thru a series of tests because of it (echocardiagram, brain MRI, lung CT scan). WHEW!

I'm finally scheduled for June 6 (my birthday is June 3) and I am so ready! One last hoorah this weekend (Memorial Day) although I will still eat smart.

Let's go! WOO-HOO

My surgery is on the 27th. The closer it gets, the more emotional I get. I am angry at myself that I got myself this unhealthy that I need this surgery. My emotions are just all over the place.

Mine is the 29th and I'm in the same mental state. I guess it's normal but still...

I got sleeved on the 8th. I'm feeling pretty darn good and finding I can eat pretty much anything, just a lot less of it. My surgeon ok'ed pretty much anything mash-able with a fork, and so far I've tolerated everything I've tried pretty well. Except a beef skewer I tried, which wasn't mash-able and which tasted great but went down like shoe leather.

I've been fine with pretty much everything, too. Even spicy foods like chili and salsa.

To Katchee... I also felt hungry last week but it's getting better. I would swear mine was real hunger but once I got more protein in, I was better. I'm 2 weeks out and starting on soft/pureed foods but finding I can eat everything I've tried with no problems...just eat small bites and small quantities. I feel pretty good about it.

Sleeve June 17. Water is not a problem tough it sometimes painful. Small sips seem to work. Have only eaten egg subsiltitue and chicken so far. Hardest thing is taking crushed meds. No pain meds since Saturday night since the liquid pain meds made me vomit.

I'm new to these forums but I had mine on June 8th. Everything seems to be fine. I go for my post op appointment tomorrow and then I get to start puréed and soft foods. I actually have a little anxiety about it. I am excited to be able to start eating againbut I am actually a little afraid of the food. I am afraid that I will over eat and it will hurt. I am afraid of going back to bad habits. I am just nervous about going back to bad habits once I am allowed to eat again. Did anyone else have that anxiety?

Just take it slow and you'll be fine. Remember to measure your food instead of relying on your stomach to tell you that it is full.

Sleeved 6/13. I'm doing okay pain wise but, I am having a hard time with the liquids only. Any suggestions of Protein powders so I can get more protein in?

Premier ready to drink shakes gives you 30 grams per carton. Also genopro flavorless Protein powder can be added to anything. I add it to Soups and it has 30 grams per scoop. It's been a lifesaver. I get about 90 grams of protein per day.
