I, too, have had several surgeries....6 different surgeons in 5 different facilities....and have never once been given blood thinners postop. The only clot preventatives I ever received were compress

They probably checked your PT/INR which indicates bleeding time and didn't feel the need to prescribe any. Be sure to move alot.

Same here @@Kindle - I've had several too and never was put on blood thinners. They don't prescribe for everyone - it could actually cause bleeding in patients who don't need them.

Was anyone prescribed blood thinners after surgery to prevent clots? I was only prescribed liquid Tylenol with codeine and Nexium. My GF was concerned about clots.
