  1. Normal. I am a very decisive person. I research and make decisions based on facts, rarely on feelings. I considered backing out the week before surgery. I'm glad I didn't. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. I was self-pay. My pre-op testing was covered by insurance and cost around $1,200 including classes, evals, labs, chest X-ray, EKG and EGD. (I have a $800 deductible and a 20% copay after that.) Those were all physician requirements, not insurance requirements. It took me about 6 months from seminar to surgery, but part of that time was me waiting to get an appointment with a PCP. 3. If your MD will prescribe Nascobal (B12 nasal spray), it comes with free bariatric chewable vitamins. I paid $25 copay through insurance. The vitamins taste pretty disgusting, though.

    New Whey Liquid Protein

Everything I read says they're not a good option, but my program actually stated these were what I should drink during the first week to get protein (clear liquids only). I stopped drinking them after the first week when I could add protein shakes.
