are there arizona insurance policies that cover skin removal surgery?

so i am moving from california to arizona 6 months after i will have roux and y gastric bypass (surgery date 5/12/16!!!). I have lived in ca all my life and have had kaiser. I am looking for the best insurence policy in az and was wondering if any of them cover any sort of reconstructive surgery such as removing excess skin from belly, pubic area, arms and thighs. does anyone have better idea or even personal experiences with this?

thank you

Hi Gabby,

As someone who works with medical insurances daily here in AZ (Phx), my experience is is that most that will cover the procedure may cover the removal if and only if there is documentation of skin issues/concerns (rashes, etc.) by your medical provider(s). I have yet to see a single one that would approve it without those stipulations. If you haven't seen your provider(s) recently, and have these issues, make sure to document and take pictures, if possible. Any leverage you have going in will help.

Good luck and welcome to AZ. I'm fairly new here myself (from NYC).

I don't know if you would be interested in doing these procedures in Mexico, but the surgeries are usually a lot cheaper. There's a few members here who went abroad for surgery. I plan on going to the Dominican Republic where it is about $3500 to $5000 for a tummy tuck, liposculpture, and breast lift or bbl all combined.
