Sushi!

When did you eat sushi again? I'm thinking spicy tuna roll, or shaggy dog, or ANYTHING??

I've learned to LOVE the riceless rolls! A lot of places will turn things riceless if you ask.

Probably 6 months out. I think. Given the choice between sashimi and something like California roll, I still go with sashimi. But at 20 months out, I've had it all. Love my sushi!

I eat sushi - no rice all the time. Started at about 1 month out. My place now makes spicy tuna with cucumber instead of rice as a regular on their menu. Crazy yummy...

I've had sushi rolls a couple of times in my 3 months. It was one of my first indulgences once I was released to 'regular' food (can't remember what week that was). I take no more than 1/4 of the rice with all of the filling, and leave the other 3/4's of it on the plate. Rice-less rolls would make me sad...I just love the flavor too much.

A month out: sashimi only!

post-257611-146128235868_thumb.jpg I had the California roll made with cucumber and a veggie roll. 4 weeks after surgery. I could only eat 4-5 pieces total.

Oh wow!! I am going to try this with my favorite rolls. Thanks for the tip!

My local restaurant makes a spicy sashimi bowl with finely-shredded cabbage dressed with a little vinegar, instead of rice. Extremely tasty.
