Ok so what happens after the last visit? Do you wait to turn everything in then, does it take awhile for ins to approve? I know ins can take 30 days but do they? How does everyone get there dates before there done?

After my last visit, my bariatric coordinator sent everything to insurance for approval. It took two days for my Cigna PPO insurance to get the information on file. I was approved on day 4. My surgery was scheduled after the approval for the following week.

I am not sure how people get scheduled before the approval but if it works for the office then that's great.

We have UMR so I'm not sure how "quick" they are to get things approved. I have everything turned in checked a cpl days ago now just a visit next week n last 1 in May n ready to go! ???????????? I wish I could get a date early however I don't think the hospital I go to does that or the dr anyway. Thank you @@Momwith3minions

I had insurance approval after (with BC /BS federal guidelines ) after my first information session.... it's the medical/diagnostic hoops I had to jump through since Sept 2015...

Wow Betterme38! We are on the exact same track! My 5th visit is also next week (4/11) and then the last one in May. All my pre-op testing is done. I'm getting SO excited!!

I've finished all my pre-ops, just waiting for my PCP to send my paperwork to the surgeon so they can submit. So much waiting and phone calls with no one calling back. Going on 3 weeks and counting..

I can't demand anything yet lol I still have 1 visit after this one @@taracutch You do it though n let me know how it goes, I hope you get a date for sure

I can't really demand anything either because I have my last visit in May but I have to pinpoint a date so I can plan for time off etc. From what I've been reading BCBS is pretty fast so I'm hoping for a late May surgery.

Late May would be awesome! I may ask also cause we have Vaca the beginning of July so that would be great, time to heal then a getaway hell yeah lol.
