I am still preop but my NUT mentioned its common for some after surgery. She recommended adding lemon or lime, changing Water temp, crystal light flavoring, or trying slower sips.

Good luck

I didn't have this problem but someone in my support group does. He has to add crystal light to all his water to drink it. I believe he also has to have it really cold.

I am almost two years post op and still get nauseated from plain water. I have always had to add flavor drops to my water and/or drink flavored water, like propel or vitamin water. Also, you can different temperatures of water. Some people do better with ice cold or some like warmer water.

You hang in there; early post op is a challenge. Just remember it gets easier!! Good luck

I think this is fairly common. Plain water was the hardest thing for me to drink after surgery.

Try different temperatures (room temperature, ice cold, etc.). I also had better luck with adding water enhancers (like crystal light or Mio drops). You might also want to try decaf tea or herb infusions either hot or iced.

It does get better.

I can't do water either! Before surgery I could handle it, with no problems. Now it has to be hot with Crystal light or mio drops.

Water doesn't agree with me like it use to that's for sure. Alot of things don't. I guess I'm going to start adding some kind of flavor to it so I enjoy drinking it again. I do like the isopure and that helps get both protein and h2o in.
