What have I done?

I had surgery Jan25 & I keep thinking to myself, "what have I done" I hurt so bad, I can only consumes liquids spoonfuls at a time, & I don't even want them. Im sick of soup and protein shakes. It takes me the entire day to finish a protein drink. I'm craving bread.. Omg bread, when will I ever eat bread again? And pasta!? ???? There are parts of my day that I feel like I screwed up, like maybe I'm just not meant to be in shape and healthy. It's like I have post-surgical depression, I'm just miserable. ????

  • It gets better. You're still in the sore/hurting/swollen, difficult part. The bread/pasta thing is head hunger. You're craving comfort foods because that's what you did before when you were upset/fe

  • It'll get better. I'm only 7 weeks out but I so relate to your feelings. It's definitely a scary and vulnerable place to be. I just started more solid foods this week and I'm seeing light at the end o

I have question I havnt had surgery yet but one my biggest fair loss in all my hair they say u need lots protein but if takes almost whole day get in just 1 shake how do u get 80-100 g of protein in

My surgery was also 1/25. It was rough for 4 days, but something finally clicked on day 5. Walking helps a ton. I'm dreaming of crackers the way a person wearing a nicotine patch missed smoking, but I know I can get through it.

I am feeling much better now! Few things I wanna address from comments people have made

1. WALK! I swear it's a HUGE difference once you walk enough to pass the gas that's in your belly from surgery

2. I'm 8 days out & starting to feel human again.

3. Get your Protein and fluids in- YES it takes ALLLL DAY to do.

First month of surgery is optimal weight loss, if you don't give your body protein it will just go into starve mode and you won't lose anything.

*Progress update: I was 274 before liquid diet, weighed 254 today!

I TOTALLY got that email this morning too! Even more torture since I'm still on full liquids for a week! :(

I experienced serious remorse my first week post op. I wanted to eat real food, and I craved nachos! Just remember that the beginning is HARD. It absolutely will get better. Your new stomach will become your new way of life, and when you see the pounds coming off and you are feeling great, this early recovery time will all be a distant memory.

My surgery is Wed. Feb 10th, Palm Springs, Ca. I'm excited & terrified all at the same time. I know I have made the right decision however, I wish I had more faith in myself.

Sometimes we r addicted to food and I didn't realize how bad I was u won't regret it u will think u do but u don't :)

And it's OK to be scared I've had four surgerys In my life worse than this one and I was still scared it isn't bad at all

Thank You, I'm just trying to remembering to breath... :(
