4 days post op...well, HELLO hunger!

Holy cow! It is the evening of my 4th day post-op and out of the blue my tummy is yelling at me in hunger! Where in the heck did that come from so suddenly? LOL I have not been hungry for days. I'm drinking a protein shake and it is helping some but whoa. I was not expecting that. I'm still on clear liquids except for my protein shakes. I start my thick liquids on Friday. Come on Friday I need some Cream of Chicken. Never thought I would be excited about Cream of Chicken. When did your appetite return post-op, just curious?

I got physically hungry right away (stomach growling like crazy) but my desire to eat went away as soon as I swallowed anything. I really felt the trauma in my upper stomach and it took a lot of effo

Thanks guys, that helps. Small portions of Soup. That's all I'm eating at the mo, and of a consistency that can go up a straw. But I'm literally on like 4oz size measures 3/4 times a day. So maybe need to up the frequency. I've read about this egg dropping, I've never tried it but seems a great way to get the Protein in!

My doc's prescribed 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks mashed up food then normal food with first fill being about week 6.

I'm certainly not hungry enough to try puréed tuna just yet!

Hey guys, yes I was having severe gas pain myself, I bought heating pads and gas x chewable. They work miracles. Also let someone pat you in the back , and burp away .... I'm used to the liquid diet already , I'm up to purée food starting today , ..... For my liquid. I did a lot of protein shakes, diet Snapple , broth home made, crystal light, water, ice pops, when I felt hungry I will have a shake or which Eva. I would usually add fiber to the shakes as well , it helps with constipation .

My stomach hasn't growled in like 8 yrs...
