    Anyone UK based?

Hey guys, I joined this site last year and quickly learnt a lot of you guys are in the US, which is great, I love comparing stories. But I wonder if there are many UK banded members that want to chat? I'm brand new, had my band fit 5 days ago so keen to build a friendship group to start my journey with! Yeah I can imagine, just the drive home from the hospital was horrendous so I don't envy your trip home! I ended up with a trapped nerve in my hip too, still suffering a little with it now, my legs tingly all the time! That's interesting with the fill information so thank you! I can't wait for mine to just get started with it now. Are you looking to have some taken out of yours or will it ease with time as you lose weight? X Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had mine done under Ramsey weight loss at the Yorkshire Clinic. How was it going abroad and what's your aftercare like? X Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Ahh I see! That's great then you really know your body. I hope I'm like that. I'm worried at the moment cause I can't really see anything until I have my fill that's going to help with losing, other than remaining on liquids cause that seems to keep me with a low calorie count I need to lose. To be honest I'm aiming to lose as much as possible! I'd be happy with like 8st. I'm a taller and imagine curvier girl naturally and people tell me I wouldn't look right as a stick! Haha. So my goal is like a comfortable size 16. I just want to shop in River Island basically! X Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Ah wow, I'm 4 weeks post op. I've lost 26lbs so far but only 10lb of that is post op from the liquids only phase. I'm starting on solids now and this is what scares me if I'm going to gain before I get to have my fill and restrict myself! How did you find that first 4 weeks? A stone is great, you probably do need another fill, but the way I'm seeing it is if you are that little bit slower you can control the skin side of it too. Losing it too quickly will leave us a little saggy! How much you aiming to lose if you don't mind me asking? And which clinic you have surgery with? X Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Fills

This is really interesting I had the same questions regarding the fills! I'm in 2nd week post op now and I'm already worrying about the further 4 weeks before a fill where you're with an unrestricted band. How did you guys find that? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Hey Angie, I'm 5 days post op too! And agree the sounds coming from my stomach are disturbing! I wish the gas would just leave already! I'm enjoying reading everyone's tales though, it's so reassuring to know, this must all be totally normal! Good luck on your journey Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

4 days post op...well, HELLO hunger!

Thanks guys, that helps. Small portions of Soup. That's all I'm eating at the mo, and of a consistency that can go up a straw. But I'm literally on like 4oz size measures 3/4 times a day. So maybe need to up the frequency. I've read about this egg dropping, I've never tried it but seems a great way to get the Protein in! My doc's prescribed 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks mashed up food then normal food with first fill being about week 6. I'm certainly not hungry enough to try puréed tuna just yet! 4 days post op...well, HELLO hunger!

Hi guys! I feel so much better reading this knowing I'm not on my own! I'm in day 4 post op hunger mode too! But with all the weird feelings I was scared to assume it was hunger. Thinking it may just be gas or even just pain from the wounds. I'm only having small portions thinking that's all my stomach can take which did the trick first couple of days but now I feel I need a little more, is this ok with liquid diets? Or do we battle through the hunger?! Also. When does the gas pain subside?!! It's so bad in my back! Anyone else suffering?
  13. Hi everyone. I'm relatively new on my journey. After years of visits to my GP, earlier this year I was referred to the dietician. That appointment was in March. She instantly decided surgery was the option for me, and after 3 months of weight tracking and meetings, I am on a waiting list to be referred to a surgeon. Apparently that takes 8 weeks. The hospital I am being referred to only opts for bypass or sleeve surgery. I feel sleeve will be best for me, but apparently that decision ultimately lies with my surgeon! Is anyone else at this stage in their process? Apparently I should be looking to have had the operation early in the new year - should all go well. But I am worried what the coming weeks leading to surgery will hold? My issue is the losing weight, it has been all my life. I've always been conscious of what I eat and I love exercise - I just lack the confidence to step in a gym on my own, but once I'm there I love it! When I was 15 I was 15st, 18 I was 18st, and it's been like that as long as I can remember. I'm 24 now and have been battling to keep my weight down, I'm currently at 22st with a BMI of 48.. I suppose I'm on here to find someone to talk to who is in the same boat as me, I find it so difficult to talk about my weight, but I have so many questions!

New girl in need of friends!

Thank you for that message it's great to speak to like minded people!! I know, the issue is, I love exercise, I was on all my school teams and I'm an active person. On paper, I'm healthy, low BP, cholesterol etc, and I can keep up with most at circuit training.. I just weigh a ridiculous 10stone more than them!! How has your weight loss been? It must be the biggest boost ever seeing the pounds drop off!!

New girl in need of friends!

That's great thank you! Oh wow that's exciting, not long to go then! So when did your journey start and what kind of things have you been doing? How was the surgery decision made for you? Sorry for all the questions!
