Fun with Protein powder....

So, I received my order form powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and decided to start experimenting with the unflavored Protein powder. Well.....lets just say my first attempt was a tad unsuccessful!

So, I decided I wanted to add unflavored Protein Powder to broth. I learned quickly to let the broth cool and NOT to add it while on the stove and hot! LOL It turned into huge clumps to protein powder in the pan....got rid of that quickly !!!

So, tell me how you add protein powder to things and anyone ever successfully added it to broth? After the clumping debacle I gave up and just settled for plain broth but would like to find a way to augment it with protein in the future.

yea I think it clumps if the liquid is over 140 degrees. I've never added it to broth (I use their chicken Soup flavored Protein powder, though), but I've added it to things like chili (but not while it's super hot!). Their unflavored protein *does* have a taste, so it's better to add it to really flavorful things (like chili) - then you don't taste it.

I just experienced the same thing.I learned quickly to add protein powder with broth in a blender. Then warm it up ...clump free

When it comes to Protein I find my bullet blender is my best friend. I like adding fruit to my protein, berries, banana, and even apple sauce.

I have used the unflavored powder in broth for my whole pre-op. as long as the temperature is below 140 degrees, it is fine. The same goes for the unjury chicken soup (which I love).

Thanks all! I am waiting for Amazon to deliver my bullet so I will blend and try again when it arrives......but I plan on mixing some powder in my blender tonight. I have a Vitamix so we will put it to good use tonight ☺️
