Dying? On day one? Well, aren't you gonna have a good week or two... It's all worth it... So stick with it!!!!

If you can get through the first three days, you will be fine. If you "cheat", you will restart that misery again and again as the carbs leave your system. Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minut

Dying?

On day one?

Well, aren't you gonna have a good week or two...

It's all worth it...

So stick with it!!!!

@@HappyNean32 The title of your thread kinda scared me a little...I won't lie. You are NOT dying on day one of liquids. On day 2 you will have a headache, so be forewarned. My surgeon approved excedrine migraine, so call them if you get a bad headache, and see if your surgeon will approve something to help you through the preop period. Oh...and naps are your friend during preop. You can't eat if you are asleep, plus it helps your days go faster. You'll make it. Look at the rest of us. We did it, and so can you. Keep reminding yourself that YOU are worth it. And it isn't forever. It's just something you have to do so the surgery goes smoothly. Gotta shrink that liver!! You CAN do it!!

If you can get through the first three days, you will be fine. If you "cheat", you will restart that misery again and again as the carbs leave your system.

Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. sleep, brush your teeth, gargle with Listerine. Nothing tastes good after that. Gum, breath mints, SF lollipops. Keep busy, knit, paint your fingernails, walk, things you can't eat while doing.

You can do it. If you can't, you aren't as ready for surgery as you might want to be. Sounds harsh, and I don't mean it that way, but it's reality.

Stick with it and in a few days you'll be past the headaches & major hunger. About day 5 you'll be all good.

You can do this!!!!!!!! Try to differentiate between real hunger and head hunger. It is ok to be hungry :). It won't kill you, I promise ????????. I am on my last day!!!! Surgery tomorrow. I will agree that cheating really makes you start all over. Who wants to have another day 1? The best advise I can give is to STAY BUSY!!! make up things to do. Do your xmas cards early. Just keep busy. When you feel hungry drink water. Lots of water to fill your stomach. Keep us posted!!!!!

Hang in there. It is rough but you can do it. I agree with a lot of the other posters that staying busy really helps. I made sure to deep clean my house, cleaned out my cabinets and fridge.

Also, sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello really helped me (if they are allowed on your plan).

You can do- just take one day at a time.

How are you doing????

Thanks everyone that gave me motivation and yes I guess it was to dramatic but I thought I could be truthful on my feelings. I will take all yall advice and it's better on day 5.....woohooo

Glad to hear you're doing better. Now you're LIVING!

I'm just one day in to my preop diet and I've said "Im dying" at least 20 times. I know I can make it, and I refuse to cheat, but it is TOUGH! I'm just going to nap for the next 9 days. That's my plan.

You CAN be truthful on your feelings. I really appreciate your honesty!!!!!

I tell ya, to me, the 14 day pre op liquid diet was the worst part of this whole thing. I had surgery on Tuesday. Life is pretty good right now, and the first two days were kinda tough, but day 3 was sooooo much better!

Hope you are doing well and good luck to you. Keep us posted!!!

Hang in there. It gets better
