@ImBringingLisaBackRYN Just checking in how did your surgery date go? did you get one ??

Hi!!! YES! I did! I'm tentatively scheduled for NOVEMBER 5!!!!!

yesterday Cigna advised that I was denied because they were missing two docs from my surgeon's office! One the surgeon didn't provide all information and the other was the psych clearance which I know they had. EXTREMELY frustrating since its out my hands AND as if December I won't have my current insurance any more!

How are you doing? Are you still on liquids or puréed ? How's that going?

oh my goodness... what crap. its like insurance makes it difficult on purpose so that you quit and they don't have to pay out..... Try not to worry and be persistent you will get this done. I have another friend whose going thru this and is in the process of paperwork like you she has cigna. Her issue is in January her deductible goes back to zero and she doesnt have the thousands to pay out of pocket to meet it for the surgery. So shes on a deadline for anytime before JAnuary. It's hard shes on top of everything to the point of annoying .... thats how its gonna get done. Do not be discouraged. NOVEMBER 5TH Ill have positive thoughts for you.

I'm on Clear Liquids at least until i see my nutritionist friday then ill probably be on ALL liquids... so theyll add like milk and Protein shakes... not that exciting pero bueno... better than nothing. Friday i also get my staples out... im hoping its not painful... everything online says its like uncomfortable tugging but not pain. FINGERS CROSSED.

Yes! As if this entire process were not stressful enough..changing insurances after having Cigna (which we LOVE) for 20+ years does NOT make it any better. Tell her to just make sure she provides EXACTLY what they ask for and she will be fine. I have Cigna Acess Open Plus and my nutritionist said during the 3 months of supervised diet the only thing I couldn't do was GAIN ANY weight. I lost very little (like 5 lbs) and they were OK with that.

Have you picked a Protein shake yet? I'm going to try the Premier ones first. I've been watching a LOT of youtube videos and that one gets mentioned a lot. I'm not even sure yet whether or not I have to do a pre-op liquid diet yet. My surgeon's office doesn't really give much instruction until AFTER you are approved. So I'm hoping to find all of this out at my tentative apt on Monday.

As for the staples, with my both of my C-sections I had them removed and I can honestly say I didn't feel a thing. So you'll be fine I'm sure. :)
