Vitamin Patches from Bariatric Pal question
ImBringingLisaBack RNY replied to ImBringingLisaBack RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AMy labs won't be for another few weeks. I'm hoping all will be well. Other than the patches not sticking on their own, I have no complaints. So I really hope they work! I'll update here when I know.

Vitamin Patches from Bariatric Pal question
ImBringingLisaBack RNY replied to ImBringingLisaBack RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI am sad to say that they do NOT stay on. I've tried different spots and if I forget to put them on with surgical tape or a band aid...they do fall off. The adhesive needs work. I hope to have better results with my blood tests next month

Vitamin Patches from Bariatric Pal question
Hi all! If you use multivitamin patches, do you wear them at night or during the day? I just received mine and nowhere does it state which is better day/night. I have to wear for 8-9 hours. Doesn't make a difference to me just wondering if there is a difference for absorption, etc. TIA

The BEST feeling in the world post op!
6 months post-op and my favorite best is buying clothes anywhere and everywhere except the plus-sized stores! I LOVE clothes and I would suffer SO much every time I had to buy clothes, especially for special occasions.

I ate sugar today for the first time--and I didn't dump. Not happy!
The main reason I chose GB RNY was with the hopes that I would dump. But I also learned before my surgery that most people don't. I'm also a sugar addict. I have tried VERY little things with sugar in the last 5 months (1 tablespoon of birthday cake, 4 mm's,) and while I have not dumped I feel as if I were to eat more I would so I'm scared and don't and use that as a tool. A couple of days ago my kids made CC Cookies, I ate 1/3 of the cookie and felt miserable for an hour after. Not dumping per se, but definitely won't be eating another one of those!

Pouch stretch?
ImBringingLisaBack RNY replied to StefanieSparklePants's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI'm 5 months out and sometimes I wonder if I'm supposed to be able to eat "that much" at a time. But then I sit down to have chicken/steak/tuna and can only it a few bites before I'm full and then I know OK that's more like it. One thing I know for sure is that carbs go down a lot more easily and with less of the full feeling than high Protein foods. So I really try to eat my protein first.

Average Weight Loss?
I'm out 5 months and have lost 85 since starting program and 69 since day of surgery. But I agree, everyone is different.

Penicillin post 5 month post op-----ouch!
I'm 5 months post op and have strep throat. My primary Dr. Is out of town so the NP called in some penicillin for me...I thought I was going to die from the stomach cramping and the BMs that followed. So I didn't take them yesterday and now the pain in my throat is back. I'm sitting here contemplating whether or not to try the penicillin again. What would you do? -Miserable in Miami

One day post op
Congrats! What a relief, eh? I'm 12 days post-op and honestly, I was expecting way worse than anything I've experienced. I'm extremely grateful that it's been this way. Now of only I could get my protein all down for the day...

Nut Requirements
I have Cigna open access plus and my requirements were 90 days of a supervised diet. It could have been with my PCP or a nutritionist...Cigna would have accepted either. And mine was a mindful eating program with walking.

Liquid Diet is getting monotonous. What are/were your faves?
I hear ya! LOL I've been on a full-liquid diet since last Wednesday, my surgery is this Thursday the 29th(!) and I have been living off of soups and my latest favorite is muscle milk ( either chocolate or vanilla crème) with 2 scoops of PB2 thrown in...delicious! I'm praying that I still like it post surgery!
