2 days to go.

2 more days until surgery early Monday morning. I am super nervous now. Hoping for a busy weekend to keep my mind occupied.

  • Congrats! I just had surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I'm doing great! The hospital stay was no big deal. I have had no nausea and sipped the broth, ate the jello and sipped the water slowly. I was fine.

  • Prepping all day. Clean house, wash laundry, last minute shopping and getting my hospital bag ready. Yay, this time tomorrow I will be out of surgery!!! It's getting too real. ????

  • Congrats to all. Hearing everyone's stories really does help to know I'm not alone. Positive stories about recent surgeries are good to hear too! Thanks all for sharing.

Oh no. So sorry you had that experience. I almost had an experience thank goodness it went away. It's hot here in California so bobcats hey mouth being dry, and I go to drink ice Water a but too much and too fast. Not a good combo. I need to get used to sipping.

I am having trouble sleeping. I usually sleep in my stomach and sleeping on my back is not working. I've been up since 3:00am.

New things to get used to.

Thanks all for you updates. Lots of great info. It's nice to know what to expect.

So yesterday was a very bad day. Almost 90 % of the day was spent in the ER. I was feeling fine most of the day and after going to the bathroom I was in the most intense pain ever. I had to have the paramedics come get me and take me to the er because I couldn't walk down the stairs in my house. Hours at the ER later worrying that I had popped a stitch and I find out I have a huge cyst on my left ovary and a large kidney stone in my right kidney. Thank god I didn't do damage to my bypass but man do I feel like crap.

I had my VSG on 9/17. Surgery went well but I had 2 hernias removed so I'm extremely sore. I have my 1st post-op appointment tomorrow. I can't wait for day 14 post-op to transition to soft foods. I'm tired of broth, water and sugar-free anything, the after taste is sickening.

I've tried aspartame-freee protein drinks from my surgeon but it's still too sweet for me.

I'm glad that this forum is here.

OMG. How are you feeling today? Good thing your surgical sites are ok but what awful timing!

Jenn I've decided that when it rains it pours on me. But I'm back to my old self just a little soar. I was worried about your protein intake this whole time and was wondering what you should do. I hope you don't lose your hair.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I'm worried too. Hair is important! But I am having pain with eating my yogurt and drinking protein shakes. My doctors recommended I go back to clears for 24 hours then try again. At least I'm not wanting real food cause I am terrified at the pain I might have. I am a little bummed because I am going to work for half days starting Monday. I am getting a little dizzy with too much activity. I need a few calories!

Casper808,

I am scheduled for Dec 14.

I just need insurance to cooperate ????

Jewels, Good to hear your feeling better.

Jenn have you tried watering down everything tell it is very runny? I do great having everything really thin. I had cheese yesterday that I mushed up tell it was nothing. (Tiny baby bell cheese)

I haven't jewels. That may be the way to start tomorrow.

Through all our bad days and good days we have to keep remembering our reason for this transformation. For a new life, another chance to get it right. A healthier you. A chance to have children.

With these thoughts they will get us through our darkest and hardest moments. Together we can encourage and relate to each other.

I can't wait until the day when we look back to say wow. All of this right now was worth every minute of it. Every hard hour, every hospital trip and doctors visit. It was all with it. We are new again.
