Clear broth should be allowed, wait until you are approved for full liquids and you can add your protein shakes in there

Each surgeon will be different in what they allow post-op.

Mine had me on flavoured milk the day after surgery and then Soups and yoghurt (no chunks in either) on day three.

You're likely to get a vast array of answers in such a wide-ranging and popular forum, so the best idea would be talk to your surgeon and/or nutritionist to see what they recommend.

Good luck with it all...

Kinda...

I was allowed my protein drinks during the clear liquid phase. I would have my protein shakes, clear broths, SF Popsicles, water. I was allowed jello but I didn't have during that phase. I returned home from the hospital four days after surgery so I only had four days to deal with clear liquids. Each phase gets easier. Just keep telling yourself..."I am healing. I am healing." You can do it!!
