  1. I can't seem to find too much info on this or I'm looking in the wrong area. About how big are the incisions and what's the best way to keep them clean/cleaning routine? Is there going to be scarring? How can I help make that as minimal as possible. My doctor will be using sutures over staples. I know I can ask my doctor, but I'd like to be prepared ahead of time. And this might be helpful for other upcoming sleevers.

    Calories and carbs

5 months out and at 900-1000 cals. I still keep my carbs around the 25-30 range. Protein 60-70

    Pills...anyone?

I couldn't swallow big pills, but small normal sized pills were fine.

    Hair loss?

I lost mine between month 3.5-5 I'd say about half my hair volume. Luckily I have enough hair for like 10 people so it's only noticeable when you touch it. Also it seems to have stopped/slowed considerably recently so I hope that's over. Not fun, but was expected.

    Roux en y?

I think most people are more familiar with the term "gastric bypass" rather than roux en y
  6. I have been getting this question a lot recently since I have seen a lot of people over the holidays who I don't normally see and it makes me embarrassed and feel so awkward. I try to change the subject or just "quite a bit." Or "I've lost track."

    NSV shout outs

Going up and down the stairs to my apartment 5-6 times in a row last night and not getting winded. I could barely make it up once without being out of breath. Success!!
  8. Love Doctor Who! This is an awesome gift
  9. I think I'm losing pretty evenly. My torso has thinned but I still have a tummy pouch I need to work on (exercises) but all my clothes sizes have been shrinking at the same rate.

How Did You Do on Thanksgiving?

I haven't weighed myself since last week (wednesday is my weigh day) but I didn't over-indulge on anything. I had mostly protein for the holiday and no desserts. Super proud of myself, I expect to see a slight loss since I've been pretty sick recently, but nothing major. As long as the scale is going down I'm happy.

    The deed is done.

Congrats! Welcome to the other side :*
  12. Knew this was coming soon, but didn't expect it quite this soon. Woke up feeling good, decided to step on the scale and BAM! I hit onederland! I haven't seen a weight like this in so long!

    ONEDERLAND!

Congrats! Me too this morning, the feeling is amazing!
  14. My dad was convinced I was going to die and he wouldn't get my body back lol. He pretty much avoided me until I actually left to gave surgery. He apologized after the fact when he realized that I was OK and didn't die or get a disease or anything weird. Lol
  15. I'm down about 60 lbs and most days I still think I'm a lot bigger. I have some good days where I look in the mirror and think "damn, I look good!" When I try on clothes that's when I notice it most, getting used to buying smaller sizes is weird.

When will the hair loss stop?!?!

I started losing hair a few weeks ago and it freaked me out! I was pulling handfuls out while washing. I recently started taking biotin and hope that the hair loss phase stops soon. I have a lot of hair to begin with so I can stand to lose some but it's still scary.
  17. I'm 3 months post op and only 3 people know about my surgery. I plan to keep it private, it's no one else's business.
  18. I flew in on a Friday, surgery Friday evening and went home on Tuesday. Back to work on Wednesday.

    Changing Tastes

Definitely noticing taste changes I continue to introduce more and more foods.

    Not eating

Take your time, if something doesn't sit well, try again a month later. Just make sure you continue to get your protein and liquid in. It's like we're babies trying food again for the first time.

    Straws?

I started using straws after about a month. I have had zero issues with them, but everyone is different.

    Things you feel good about?

Fitting into clothes/sizes I haven't been since high school. Not getting extremely winded walking up the stairs .
  23. I love love love tuna, it was a huge part of my pre surgery life. Sadly it makes me feel so ill now. I can eat almost any other meat just fine. Kinda sad but will continue to try and introduce it back in every month or so.
