Any Experiences with Not Obeying Doctors Orders?
I was self pay and after the thousands of dollars I spent I would not do anything to defy what the doctor had said. I want to be the best for me, and don't want to risk anything

Weighing
Personally I waited for 1 week after surgery due to water retention, swelling, all that hospital stuff. Then I started weighing daily for the next while. Now it's every few days . Everybody is different

Have any of you sleevers gone to Mexico to have your surgery?
I was sleeved in 7/31 by Dr Jesus Lopez at the Santa Fe Clinic in Mexico. Everything went great there for me
-
For those sleeved on or around 7/29/15
I was sleeved 7/31 and have lost 17 since surgery and 34 lbs total.

Did anyone go back to work before 2 weeks ?
I went back 6 days after surgery (3 days off work not counting the weekend). I was on no pain meds and was feeling fine. I work in an office where I sit most of the day so I had zero complications

Keeping WLS a secret.
I'm 3 weeks post op and only 3 people know/knew I was having surgery. I'm a very private person so what I do with my body is no one else's business but my own.

How in the world do I take fish oil?!
I got mine from Walmart they are small pearls. 500mg per capsule. Much easier to swallow over the big guys
-
Carbs
I try to stay between 20-25g and most carbs are natural carbs

You can get smaller pills and space them throughout the day, that helps too.

Stairs
Once I returned home from surgery I had to hit the stairs since my apartment is on the second story. Just take things slowly and be careful

Hungry!
Clear broth should be allowed, wait until you are approved for full liquids and you can add your protein shakes in there

Secret sleever
Only my parents and one real close friend knows. I'm keeping it quiet for now because I have a very judgemental family and I just want this to be positive and don't want to be nagged on or put down because of my decision. I did this for me not for them. When the time is right or if someone asks I'll be honest about it. So far since starting my pre-op diet to now 2 weeks post op I have lost 30 lbs or so. My coworkers have noticed my clothes are baggy and I don't eat out anymore, no more daily cokes, sugary coffees ect. I just tell them I'm on a new diet and have been getting active more (which is mostly the truth). When I feel like it, I might tell them. But it's my Business and my life and my body. I don't need to share everything. I'm a very private person to begin with.

Period problems
Ugh I'm getting my first period just two weeks out. I'm having some really bad cramps. I don't think I'll be stepping on the scale for a few days. Super bloated.

9 days post op and still weak need to walk but cannot very far when does this get better?
Are you taking any vitamin supplements? Try taking a B vitamin and see if that helps. Everyone recovers from surgery differently.

1st week weight loss
I'm down 10 lbs almost 2 weeks, was probably about where you are at one week. Each body is different, I'm having trouble keeping up with walking right now due to heat. But at work I make sure I get up and do a few walks around the office. Hopefully the next few weeks I'll add some more mileage under my belt like the first few days.

Sleeve on 7/29 (or close), how are we doing?
That's great! Maybe try to break it up into a few walks throughout the day. Every bit helps.

24 hour post op misery
Get up and walk, that will help the gas go away. If you can't get out of bed yourself, call for a helping hand. But definitely walk walk walk it'll push the gas out.

Sleeve on 7/29 (or close), how are we doing?
Are you doing any sort of physical activity? If you are staying mostly sedentary that could affect it, or you may be shrinking and just not having the lbs come off. Up your activity and see what happens
