Caffeine

Why are we not post to have caffeine? Is green tea every once in awhile ok?

Why are we not post to have caffeine? Is green tea every once in awhile ok?

Caffeine is a diuretic so having it early on, especially when you are struggling to get in fluids is not a good idea. Check with your NUT. Mine said I could eventually have no more than one cup a day.

In the meantime you could try some herbal infusions or decaf tea.

I was a tea addict before surgery but now only have the tiniest cup of decaffeinated tea every other day or so. Tastes can change after the sleeve and you might find you don't want it anyway.
