Few hours one day post op.

Calling all sleeve veterans.. I have a few questions .. How many times a day should I walk and cough to prevent clots and pneumonia.. Also could I rest without getting a clot sheesh they've scared me I've been up coughing walking deep breathing none stop

I was/am worried about this as well. I had a cousin pass away from a pulmonary embolism (not related to any surgery). Do you wear sequential compression devices or "leg puffers" as I call them? Personally, I tried to get up when I felt up to it, and also had Lovenox injections once daily. I was also annoyingly insistent about calling to put the SCDs back on me! Let you RN/Doctor know of your concern too, they are the best to guide you! I think often times it depends on your risk factors on what preventative actions they take.
