Swimming incision question!?

How long did you guys wait to swim in the ocean or swimming pools? I'm at 6 weeks my incisions look healed but are very red still. The docs say 4-6 weeks. I'm scared of infection though. What did you all do, how long did you wait?

I'm still waiting and I will be 5 weeks this Wednesday. My glue hasn't fallen off yet, but it's about ready (and boy do the incisions itch). I haven't been able to be in our pool the entire summer

My glue hasn't fallen off yet, but it's about ready (and boy do the incisions itch). I haven't been able to be in our pool the entire summer so far (we opened late - I hate green pools).

I waited 3 or 4 weeks. Dr said when scabbed over and glue had come off.

My Dr said 4 weeks. Looking forward to Thursday

I had surgery on 7/6 and my staples removed on 7/16. Had he steri strips over the staples holes for a couple of days and the doctor said I could I swimming once those fell off. My incisions are healed and the staple holes are stabbed over.

At my 4 week follow up with my surgeon he cleared me for using the pool.

mine was healed and glue gone about 2-1/2 weeks.

I was allowed to swim at 4 weeks. Some redness is normal just be sure it is not excessive, do a good check of all the incisions.
