It gets better

Edited by jadama22

My first day was a nightmare - pain and vomiting all night was dreadful and agonizing. The rest of that week the pain from my stomach spams were in unbearable without pain meds. Today at 12 days post op it is so much better and I'm getting in my 30 min walk on the treadmill a day.

All I can say is that I've lost a total of 28 lbs - this includes my one week pre- op diet. I see a new me as I look in the mirror every day.

It does get better - stay strong you will make it thru this.????

I was sleeved on 7-6-15 and to my surprise the only pain I had was the gas after surgery. No incision pain at all. I was up and walking 6 laps around the hospital hallways the same afternoon. It was difficult to urinate for a few days, which I hadn't expected. Getting enough fluids in has been tough too. But no pain and no hunger. I am finding it difficult to stay on a liquid diet for a full week.

I was sleeved on Thursday too! I've had terrible gas pains and the only incision that bothers me is the one in my belly button. I've burped several times and that helps some but still haven't passed gas or had a bowel movement. I'm hoping by the end of the day or tomorrow I get some bathroom relief. I've been walking my tail off and it helps to get the gas moving around. So I'm thinking today is going to be the day! Sending prayers your way for a speedy recovery!

It was bad for me and I have a high tolerance For pain so whom ever said sore I say they are crazy. What I experienced was pain honey but it did subside with walking and resting.

Yes I agree it much better and walking does help. At this point I am fine just learning how to sip and trying to get the fluids in are a challenge. Prayers doe you as well!

What I've found that has helped me the most today with the gas pain is rocking myself in a rocking chair and using a heating pad on my belly. It has done wonders for me today. Yesterday I was so miserable from the gas I kept thinking to myself WTF have you gotten yourself into? Lol I do normally have a very high pain tolerance but the gas pain is like nothing I've ever felt before! And it just gets stuck and it's hard as hell to get that shit out.
