Pre Op diet

Is anyone eating anything other than SF Jell-0, SF Popsicles or broth? I'm also having a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and a lean cuisine for dinner per dr orders.

  • Thanks!! Obviously I won't add anything without asking my dr. First. Just curious. It's becoming mental now.

Im allowed non starchy veggies and nutrition bars given to me by my Drs office. They also gave me some mix for shakes/pudding, and hot chocolate.

I had a 1200 calorie diet for 12 days, and now I'm on my two-day liquid diet. For my liquid diet - In addition to Protein shakes, I'm allowed SF pudding, lite yogurt, & unsweetened applesauce.

I'm just sticking to replacement drinks. I know, I know, I am crackers. It's easier for me to just have 3 Meal Replacements than bits of food here and there, I find it easier and I can focus on other things rather than food. I start on the 6th of July. Beware, I am sure by day 3 you will hear me screaming in the Americas!

Yup, totally do-lally. lol

I am on a liquid only 800 cal a day. 4 Dr recommend shakes and a little broth first 3 days were so bad but I'm a week in with one more to go. It's hard but doable.

I'm on day 3 of a 3 day pre-op clear liquid diet. I have barely been able to get over 200 calories in a day. I've been surviving on Isopure Carb zero, broth, SF jello, SF popsicles, crystal light, and Vitamin water Zero. Surprisingly I don't feel that bad.

How has your energy level been?

Its been good. It was definitely worse the first day, but i haven't felt a extreme drop. I think the anticipation and excitement for surgery tomorrow is helping with that.

My surgeon's pre-op diet was 3 meals of around 300 calories of lean Protein and non-starchy veggies and 2 Protein shakes a day. I didn't have to do an all liquid diet.
