Hi All!

Well, I had my very first appointment today. It went better than I expected! My surgeon is amazing. He said I am a great candidate for the VGS. I also saw the Behavior Health Specialist and Nutritionist today. That's pretty much all I have to do. My insurance has me on a fast track so it's just a waiting game now. My patient advocate says she usually hears back from the insurance company between 1 and 2 weeks!!! Now comes the nail biting???????????????????? Not-so-patiently-waiting....

So friends, how long did it take to get your final approval?

  • Wow that's great- what insurance do you have? usually there are other appointments like an endoscopy, echocardiogram, and a sonogram of the gallbladder

I have BCBS. After 3 months of documentation and a therapist visit, I was approved in 48hours. So it went super fast for me. Good luck with everything!

I have BCBS. I am 38 with no previous cardiac history. The cut off for mandatory EKG is 40. I asked the Doc about checking, or even possibly removing my gallbladder, but he suggest since I'm not having any problems or symptoms it's not necessary.

  • 1 month later...

I hear so much back and forth on BCBS having to do the 6 months of documented weight loss. I don't want to have to do it again. I have 4 months about 8 months ago. Hopefully it'll go quick for the both of us! :)
