So I know we were told swimming pools about 8 weeks. Our own pool around 4 weeks, but what about the beach? Any one have any info on that? I tried to google some info, but only came back with some alley doctor advice. Thanks.

Thanks Goldy. I'm healed and got the clear from my doc. I use to surf growing up and although I don't hit the beach everyday, I still surf and I know my daughter keeps begging me to teach her, so this is the time.

Did your surgeon clear you for surfing, too or just swimming? The reason I ask is that it seems that surfing would engage more of your abdominal muscles and would be more akin to lifting than water submersion. Just a thought since this is a time when they are trying to prevent hernias in the abdominal wall.
