I am almost 3 months post-op and I have seen a definite increase in appetite within the last week. I want to eat all the time - obviously just a small portion makes me full but Is this normal? I am finally able to eat 1000-1200 calories a day of food, but I am not losing weight, and have not in what seems like the past 2 weeks. I have also had a hard time finding time to actively walk with my 2 toddlers. Help?! I am scared that since picking up my appetite I will stretch my sleeve or gain/stop losing weight. Again... Is this normal?

Cindy...I am new too. I just got my sleeve 10 days ago, but that sounds like a lot of calories in one day. I met with my nutritionist yesterday and she told me when the "honeymoon" period ends, go back to liquids for a short time. It will help to get you restarted again. Hope that helps!

Doctor said at my 4 week that they would love to see me at at least 1000 calories and at that time I was barely staring mushy foods so I figured 1000-1200 was okay. I think I will go back to liquids for a while while. Bad news is since my appetite picked back up going back to liquids will be a struggle for me. But I am going to try that! Thanks!

cindy4157, my surgeon's office told me to strive for a calorie goal of 1100 calories. I'm just over 4 months out and not quite there yet, but getting close and I'm still losing weight, obviously not as rapidly as at first, but I'm not exercising consistently yet either. And my energy level is much better than it was when I was around 800 calories.

Include your toddlers in your exercise. Push them in a stroller if you need to. Go to a park and let them play while you walk around the playground. March in place in your living room while the kids are sleeping. Run around the backyard with the kids. Include them in your exercise and you will be able to be more successful. They will benefit from the exercise too and will probably sleep better.

This may be a "stupid" question but how do u could calories if you are only taking a few bites of food at each meal?

I'm in exactly the same place. I'm 2 1/2 months out and getting an appetite back. I stay around 1,050 calories a day, walk the tread stepper for 10 minutes a day, get my 10,000 steps in according to my Fitbit and have been hovering around 190 for three weeks! Frustrating!

41 pounds total. I was;t really required to lose weight pre-op as I was on the lower BMI but had two co-morbidity conditions that qualified me for surgery. So pre-op I was 230 and at surgery after two days of a clear liquid diet I was 227.

I'm exactly the same! I'm 3 months out and have definitely been eating more! My NUT who I saw today was happy with how much I was eating just wants me to track all the protein! :) just remember your still healthy and eating a ton less than most people

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
