Hello All, I am 2 weeks and 2 days post op. My program introduced soft foods a week out. The first week was ok, but the last week food is just not appealing. I would rather drink Protein shakes.. Do you think this is a problem or routine part of the process?

I think at this point the most important thing is getting in all your liquids and Protein. Check with your doctor or nut and see what they say.

In the beginning nothing appealed to me either. food was disgusting and I only ate and drank to meet my nutritional goals. I even had to brush my teeth after eating or drinking Protein Shakes to get the taste out of my mouth. However, for most of us your taste comes back (sometimes differently) and your appetite will even out. I am almost 10 months post op and can tolerate almost any type of food and things taste more normal now... Some days that's not a good thing.

Good luck.

It's part of the process.

Some days I'm meh about food and eat to live and other days I'm all OMG pecan crusted tilapia for dinner! Can't wait!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
