March 25

I got a surgery date of March 25th. I start my pre-op diet on March 18th. I am looking forward to all the changes that this surgery will bring. Would love to hear any last minute tips that anyone has.

Keep your eyes on the Prize. I think a lot of us have had at least one "What did I do to myself?" or "I can't do this anymore" moment, beginning at the pre-op diet when all of a sudden it seems like everything good in our life (read: food) has been taken away. For me, the pre-op diet was a living nightmare for the first week or so, but I found that if I just kept myself busy & away from my desk (which was a snacking black hole for me) I had a much easier time of it.

SuzeMuze--

I have the same problem sometimes when I am at my desk. Unfortunately, most of my job is at my desk so I just need to learn to retrain myself and not snack at it.

Kamcar-- My surgery is at 7:30am too and I also have to be checked in by 5:30. Got to love being up bright and early :) What makes it even better is that I am an hour away from the city I have surgery in so will be up even earlier lol I just figure I will be sleeping through the surgery and probably lots after so I can catch up on my sleep that way. LOL

I'm also a distance from where I'm having surgery done. I'm about two and a half hours from my hospital! Sleeping that morning will probably sound good!

I'm March 26th, but start my liquid diet tomorrow, thanks for the tips @@SuzeMuze :)

March 23rd here! start preop on Monday 9th and travel for work 10,11, and 12th so at least I will be busy and limited

March 25th here also, got the call today! Pre-op diet starts on the 11th....good luck everyone!

I'm new to the forum and my Surgery date is April 22.

March 25th too!!! I'm a nervous wreck today!!!

25th here....sitting at work till its time to go home and start prepping for tomorrow!!

I have my bag some what packed. What are you all bringing? Ive got a robe, slippers, couple changes of clothes since I hate the hospital gowns and that "sick" feeling, tablet, headphones, ChapStick lip gloss, and lotion.

Pretty much the same stuff....I threw in 2 boxes of Gas-x :-)

Oh and breath strips...and a pillow for the ride home.

Ah pillow, must not forget that and a fleece blanket! I haven't picked up gas-x yet but I heard that to be helpful. I'm hoping I survive the first day. As of midnight no liquids no nothing and it sounds like I won't be able to drink anything until after my swallow test the following morning
