I'm having my surgery March 16th in Nor Cal. Getting excited and scared. I only took one week off work. My surgeon said I should be fine since I have a desk job. It's great there are so many of us having it done so close together.

Wow! My doc said 4-6 weeks before going back to work. Hopefully you will only be slightly tired sitting behind a desk and not hurting. I'll be praying for ya! I am self employed (husband and I own business) so I don't really have an restrictions but I'm sure my husband wants me back to work like the day before I have surgery Lol!!

I will also be out of work for 4 weeks. I've had my pre admissions testingat the hospital and I saw the surgeon for our final visit before surgery. On Tuesday I have a pre surgery class and then the requirements are finished. It still doesn't seem quite real. Maybe because I'm still caught up in prep work?

Well, how's everyone doing? My surgery went fine. I had hernia repair while my doc was in there, which makes sense now. I have insomnia now but otherwise so far so good.

How bout you guys?

Had my surgery too. I also had a hernia repair while they were in there. First day I was npo the whole time except ice chips. I medicine cup every hour. I slept alot this day and didn't have much gas. Second day I could 2 medicine cups of liquid every hour and I was allowed broth and watered down apple juice. I mostly drank the juice and water. Didn't have an appetite at all. Started to get gas this day. It hurt a bit. 3rd day I really have gas pains but I'm up and walking around as much as I can and was still allowed just 2 med cups an hour. Still didn't have an appetite. So now it's day 4 and the gas pains are minimal. I feel a little pressure each time I drink. I still don't k ow my fill point yet so I don't take in much at a time. Still don't have an appetite for any broth or anything like that but I have drank almost 11 ozs of my premir protein shake and almost 64ozs of water. Last thing I want is to get dehydrated. I got to walk around outside 2 times today then it started raining. But my room is upstairs so I've had to climb stairs and I walk around the house too. When I went into the hospital I weighed 351. When I left the hospital I weighed 358 from all the fluid that they gave me. Today I weighed in at 345 whoopeee!!!!! I really don't want to eat any of the broths or anything the thought of it and the smell of it makes me nauseous. I do feel like I could eat other foods but I have to wait 2 weeks until I get to the doc to see what he says. So until then I guess I am stuck with water, juice, and protein shakes. How is everyone else doing that has had thier surgeries? Are our situations similar?? Hope you all are doing as well as I am!!

I'm doing pretty well. I was released Tuesday afternoon and today I haven't needed any pain medicine. I'm working on the fluid intake but I haven't made it to 64 ounces in a day. I get about 48. I also had hernia repair and that feels so much better!

I doing pretty good too. I also had hernia repair. :) I'm doing good on my water about 70oz a day. I'm able to eat non fat yogurt and smashed cottage cheese. I've had some pureed pears too. I'm dealing with some constipation but other than that feeling good. It's great we're all doing so well.
