Hunger post sleeve

Hi everyone,

My surgery date is Tuesday, 2/25. I am on day 5 of the pre-op liquid diet and the constant hunger is terrible. I'm eating a lot of soup/broth, several shakes a day and of course Water. Will this hunger continue post op? If so how long?

Thanks in advance

  • I didn't have a liquid pre-op diet. I can tell you that 3 days post-op, I am not remotely interested in food.

Mine got better - I was the same way. Now that I'm two weeks post surgery the hunger has reduced. I wanted to eat everything in sight the first week. Just be patient!

Can you not have a salad with some chicken (or any kind of protein) and a lite dressing. I had that for lunch and supper when I was on my pre-op and it really helped being able to eat something with substance. Good luck!

I'm with jen, from the moment I woke up from surgery, I never really felt hungry again. Food just didn't interest me. I was so happy to have lost those cravings.
