    Nuvaring?

Been back on nuvaring for a years and no weight gain
  2. 5 day ouch reset was a game changer for me. I feel like I've gone back to very early restriction levels. Give it a shot.
  3. I told nosy people at work who kept asking "how are you losing all that weight?" that I had a cocaine problem. It quiets them very quickly.
  4. This is a bit off topic, but I was so crazy hungry the first month. That will pass and you won't be thinking about your first cheat food. ????

    Beer and champagne

Learn to love wine or sobriety. Champagne is uncomfortable but beer is worse.

    What is the five day?

I tried it this week and I have noticed a huge change. I haven't been eating as much and the cravings are gone. It does bring back the head hunger battle, which is good. It's worth a try - I recommend it!

    Drinking alcohol

I was drinking quite often and it slows your weight loss and makes my stomach hurt. I've been super strict on my diet (sans alcohol) and have still lost a lot of weight but it's better to avoid the booze - sorry to say. For the rest of you - no lectures, please. I've reformed.

    Alcohol - when?

I just have a harder time knowing when it's going to hit me and I seem to get reoccurring drunk with it. I'll be buzzed then be fine, then have another drink and end up being drunk unintentionally. I could always hold my booze before surgery but I have to be careful now. Two glasses of wine is pushing it, three is probably a mistake. Hard alcohol is way less predictable for me for some reason.

    Alcohol - when?

People are going to judge with me saying this, but I drink probably a few times a month. I entertain customers and as much as people say you can fake it, it makes things awkward in my industry if you have always drank and all of a sudden stop. I haven't had any issues - just take it slow because it hits harder and faster and goes away sooner than before (for me). I haven't lost as much as I thought I would have and I'm sure drinking had something to do with it. But so do the long hours and the travel and other life circumstances. I'm following my diet very closely but still have problems with hydration (yes I know alcohol makes it worse). Hard liquor had been a bad idea. wine has been fine. Good luck and you do you.
  10. I travel a lot as well. It is much easier when you have a rental car and can go get things or if you are staying in one city for the week. I was doing multiple cities in a week without a car and it was brutal. I was dehydrated, couldn't find decent protein shakes anywhere, etc. I pack some protein with me at all times and if I'm going to run out of bars I will ship them to the location I'm headed to. It can be difficult though. My nurses said to wait a month before flying but my doctor said two weeks was fine. Do get up and walk around to prevent blood clots.

Did they really take half my tummy?

I thought I had wasted my time with the surgery until I started eating real food again. Now I feel the restriction. I wouldn't let the first couple of months scare you. The restriction comes. Just stick with the plan!

    Resume omeprazole anyone?

I'll be on it a year after surgery.

To Catheter or Not to Catheter?

No catheter for me - I needed to get up and walk around, even though I had crippling nausea for the first sixish hours and would dry heave every time I put my head up. But then they put a little anti nausea mix in with my pain meds and I was golden. The point is - if you at all can, you want to be up and moving (my opinion).
  14. Hello, I'm 3 months out and down 50 lbs. haven't had any real issues. I was on the road for a month straight and I ran out of my prescription reflux mess and switched to Prilosec. Shouldn't be a big deal. So, I'm on a plane and put my tray table down to sleep on (530 am flight). When I wake up I have a vomit like substance coming out of my nose and mouth and down my shirt. It was gross. I'm not sure why the lady sitting next to me didn't do anything - I probably would have thought I was seizing... Anyway - I had eaten a granola bar with chocolate before that - not ideal and nothing I would eat if I wasn't traveling. Everything was closed at the airport and I was ill prepared - my fault. My question is - do you think that was the foamies and it was worse because I was asleep? It was kind of unsettling. Anyone else have a similar experience?

    Weirdest thing while traveling

Maybe...I saw my doc as soon as I got home and he just told me to get back to my routine. I was only home 2 days out of the last 30 so it was rough...

    Personal female question

    I'd go to the doctor.

2 mos out I was allowed to have salad again.

    Can't do anymore protein!

I drink a pure protein shake every day. 35 grams per day. Tastes decent.

    Post-op periods

I gained weight as well when I had my first period in 10 years (I had always manipulated with birth control). I went back on my birth control but it still takes a few months for your body to regulate. I think the best thing is to avoid weighing yourself around your period. You can guarantee yourself it your weight will be up for something beyond your control and you are just punishing yourself. For the cramps, etc., why can't you go back on birth control?

    Pain in lower right abdomen

Normal - for me it was 3 weeks.
  21. I swallow multiple pills every day - no issues.
  22. So, on a flight this AM I grabbed something to eat that is a little out of my protein comfort zone. It was a fig granola bar with some chocolate in it. I hadn't had anything to eat and was desperate. Shorter flight so not a lot of options. I fell asleep and woke up actually vomiting/foaming. It was all over my shirt and face. My first concern is how the hell that happened. I also couldn't believe the person who was sitting next to me didn't do something...but whatever. I am on my second week of four traveling all week, back to back, and this is so hard. I see the doc on May 8th, the day after the travel is over and he is not going to be happy. My goals are basically to not vomit on myself and to just get through the travel. Anybody with a high travel job have any suggestions? I have some quest bars but I'm struggling with everything - protein, fluids, vitamins, working out. When I'm at home I get almost everything in without any issues. It's frustrating and I feel like I'm wasting a month where I should be losing a lot just basically trying to maintain status quo (or less). I'm not overeating but I'm not eating correctly.

    Not losing anything? ?

The one thing we all know is that everyone's plan is different. I stalled because my body couldn't get out of starvation mode. Once they upped my calories I started losing again. I have not been very successful on working out every day - I struggle with energy after working 10 to 12 hour days. Yes I get all my protein in. I am two months out and I still have a shake every day. I think you have to find what works for you - we all have advice but you need to see what makes your body happy.

    Puree food ideas

I don't think I puréed one thing. I'm not saying you should go rogue like me, but I ate extremely soft foods for two months and chewed very well. I lived on eggs, cheese, and yogurt. Also blueberries, avocado, etc. I am positive some folks won't agree with me but I had no issues. I guess I'm just a rebel like @LipstickLady.
  25. Great post! Very inspiring! I'm going to the beach next month and I wonder what it will be like without alcohol. Your post made me feel better.
