So I've had a hiatal hernia since I can remember, I think it was officially diagnosed when I was 5 and for the rest of my life I've been on omeperazole to keep the reflux in check.

When I had my sleeve done on Thursday, my Dr. repaired the hernia as well. However, I've read about a lot of folks on the forum who still had signiifcant GERD post-repair. So far though, with no omeperazole since Wednesday I haven't had even a touch of reflux. Does this mean I'm one of the lucky few for whom the repair was entirely successful? Or have some of you out there had the same experience only to have the reflux return once you were off of the liquid diet?

I also had hernia repair during my sleeve procedure. The GERD got worse before it got better for me. Omeprazole 2x day and still had symptoms the first month after. Eventually when the swelling went down about 4 weeks post up I was symptom free.

I haven't had any reflux since he fixed my hernia on surgery day. Granted it's only day 3 but I'm choosing to hope and believe that it will never come back!
