I am on day 2 of my pre- surgery diet and I am so hungry. My stomach won't stop growling. Any advice? Anyone in the boat with me right now?

I really hated the pre-surgery diet. I was awful to live with. What helped me the most was crystal light. I drank it between Protein Shakes and it helped keep the hunger at bay. Good luck to you!!

I'm on day 9 of this existence, low sodium broth, coffee,sf popsicles,sf Jello all of these help if you are allowed them every pre op diet is a little different. Also I find it helps to keep busy, read a book, watch a movie, work just don't watch the food network. I felt a little better around day 5 but been having my ups and downs. Hang in there!

This is my biggest fear! I've been thinking about trying to get a last minute trip somewhere for the first bit of it, to help keep me distracted. Thoughts?!

@@kcadoret If you can go on a pre-surgery trip, I say go and have fun! Just so you can stay on your diet, what's the harm? It will take your mind off everything.

For me this part of the journey was extremely hard. I was constantly hungry, and craving all kinds of foods. I had to do it for a week, and the first day of the diet started off good, but by around five pm that day, I gave in and had a sandwich from

SubWay!! afterwards I felt very guilty, and disappointed with myself. For sure I thought there is no way that I will be able

to commit to this if I cant even do this for a week. But after thinking long and hard about the ways that my life was about to change, I buckled up, and started to eat the things that the nutritionist assigned to me. The day of my surgery was this past

January 28th, and everything came out great!! I am now 2 weeks post op. So please believe that you will be able to do this.

Drink your shakes, and Water, and your broths and try and keep busy so that you don't think too much about your hunger.

Good Luck, and know that you are going to be fine :)

I am on day 5, I do low sodium broths and made a Vietnamese Pho Soup, get sugar free popcicles and lemon Water. I actually do not have hunger pains. I figure it push comes to shove, I will eat something light, like and egg or something.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
