That sounds like a good weight loss! Don't compare yourself to others!

If you don't get 60 grams of Protein and 64 ounces of fluids, your weight loss may slow down. I use a spreadsheet that does an auto sum. Good luck!

You've lost 22 lbs ! That's great! Not sure why you think you aren't losing like your supposed to. I had surgery on 12/16 and have lost 20 lbs. (ignore my stats, I lost 60 prior to surgery). Try not to compare your journey with someone else's. And sometimes Dr's expectations are overly aggressive.

"Like you're supposed to." - WUT?

When is the last time you lost 22lbs in a month? Stick to your program. Protein first, get your fluids and some form of physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day, even if it's just walking.

You sound like you're on your way to me.

Your doctor is an ass. She should be more concerned about your health, not how fast you lose. If you are getting in all your Protein, fluids and Vitamins then you are doing great. If not, then that's what you should concentrate on, not the numbers on the scale. Losing slower is much healthier and easier to maintain in the long run. It took me 7 weeks to lose 17 pounds postop and I was thrilled. Glad I didn't have your surgeon to make me feel bad about it. And my rate of loss did not prevent me from reaching and passing goal in less than a year.

Hi ..thnx i thought I was doing good but then when I saw the doctor she told me that was poor weight loss

That's when tact is lost. Why make you feel like crap? Why not say, "that's good now let's review you diary?" Then the doc or NUT can make helpful suggestions as to ways to increase your weight loss without discouraging you. In fact done that way there would never be a need to mention you aren't losing enough.

Please don't feel discouraged. Stick to your program and keep your chin up!

I have felt a little pressure to lose fast... I was told by my surgeon's PA that my weight loss was good, not as good as some, but it was fine (12 lbs @ 10 days out) I left thinking I would catch up by my 6 week visit, but it is 4 weeks later and I've lost 8... I go back the 2nd... I hope I've lost better, I've lost inches, and I'm pretty happy, but worried the dr won't think so. I'm doing a lot of Water aerobics, getting my Protein and fluids in... I think those docs do care about #'S I've lost 20 in 5 weeks. I think they want you to lose as much in what they call the honeymoon period... Well, this has been a great asset for me, but I am sure it will continue to take a lot of work.... Long past that period.

@@Foreverblessedx3, please don't pay attention to the negativity you've described. Make good choices most of the time like you're doing and everything will fall into place. Everyone loses weight at different rates, so comparisons aren't relevant. You've already made a great choice to get your health back, and I'm confident you will be very happy that you've made the choice to have surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
