Can we have protein shakes on the liquid diet?

Guess it depends on what yiur surgeon says . I know im on my 14day liquid diet and the request that I have 2 protein shakes a day

For my diet I had to have 3-4 protein shakes and in between then I could have sugar free jello or popsicles. I also had to drink plenty of water.

My liquid diet is two days before surgery and no protein shakes are allowed

Full liquid diet: yes. Clear liquid diet: no. The clear liquid diet should basically only be the day prior to surgery.

On the full liquid diet you'll have up to 3 protein shakes/day.

• I think the intent of the Pre-Surgery liquid diet is to shrink the size of your liver. Also you should consume atleast 65grams of protein everyday on this diet, so the protein shakes are very important!!
