Stricture post revision.

Has anyone not had resolution from a stricture via endoscopic balloon dilation. I had my 3rd dilation in a month yesterday and it was not successful. I have built up a tolerance to the medicine and woke up mid procedure. Is surgery the only next option?

I did not have a revision, just hernia surgery and RNY,but I have had three endoscopies with dilations for strictures. I have no idea where I go from here.

I meet with my surgeon in a week to find out whats next. Im just nervous since i had band removal, rny and 3 endoscopies in 6 months. I have an 11 month old also so this entire process is taking a toll. Im so afraid of not getting better.

Sorry to hear that. I have been pretty bad off since surgery as well. My dr talked about a revision of my surgery. I am hoping it doesn't come to that.

Im hoping i dont need a revision surgery as well. They talked abouta suture but if it fails will cause more complications. I just want to do what fixes the issues

It is my impression if you need 3 or more dilations there is an option for a stent. The nurses said that is not what they prefer to do but they will if you need it. i had 2 strictures and have been ok since. I pray for you!

I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday and he said he thinks I may need one more. He also said after 5 dilations they would consider the stent.

Whew! That is a relief. Then hang in there and realize this will all be worth it down the road this is just the bumpy part.

My dr said that they dont think a Stent will work and could cause more issues if it doesnt solve my issues. I am 4 days post dilation and my stricture has shut again. I see my surgeon on Wednesday hoping for good news
