How long until swimming is allowed post op?

Hey all, thanks in advance for the input... My question is how long post op does one have to wait until swimming is ok? I ask because my son has a soccer tournament a few hours away for a weekend and the hotel that we're staying at has an indoor pools and both my kids love water (one is 9 and can swim alone but the other is 5 and needs some help). I know I can just sit on the sides with my feet in the water, but wasn't sure about waist high or anything. Oh yeah, I'll be just a few days short of 3 weeks post op by then. I have my preop on 10/14 so will ask the Dr then, I would just like everyone's input from here as well.

I had my surgery over the summer and was told 4 weeks. I think they want to be sure incisions are healed and no possibility of infection.
